Mental Health and Addictions Counselor
James has practiced in the field of human services since 1989. His first experience was counseling gay men with HIV. He also worked for the county mental health agency in Denver, CO, working with people with co-occurring mental health and substance use diagnoses. He holds a BA in Economics from Denison University; an MBA in Marketing Management from Miami University and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. Since 2001, he has been in private practice helping young men transition into adulthood. In 2003, he attained a Certified Addictions Counselor Level III. He is approved by the Colorado Division of Behavioral Health as a trainer for addictions counselors. James is an expert in counseling gay men and gay male couples. James is also certified as a Child and Family Investigator.
