Level I – 6 to 12 hours
The Level I Non-Driving-Related AOD Basic Education course consists of 1 6-hour class held on the 2nd Saturday of the month, or 2 6-hour classes held on the 2nd and 3rd Saturdays of the month. If 8 hours are required by the court and/or probation, arrangements are made to satisfy the 2 hours over the first class at the second class. The classes are designed with the following goals and objectives:
- Increase client’s awareness of alcohol and drugs through an overview of the history of their personal use.
- Recognize the causes of cravings and urges.
- Understand how beliefs are developed that lead to decisions to behave in ways that generate undesirable consequences.
- Develop self-management skills and strategies.
Program fee: $15.00 Intake; $125.00 group fee.
Level II – 18 hours
The Level II Non-Driving-Related AOD Education and Therapy course consists of the Level I AOD Education classes plus an additional 6 hours of classes, at a time to be arranged with the therapist, designed with the following goals and objectives:
- Increase clients’ awareness of the physiological and psychological effects of alcohol and other drugs.
- Understand the processes of developing substance abuse and dependence.
- Teach clients how to change thinking, beliefs and behaviors that contribute to substance abuse.
- Understand triggers and how to develop strategies to prevent lapse behaviors leading to recidivism.
- Introduce interpersonal and social skills that create positive relationship outcomes.
Program fee: $15.00 Intake; $225.00 group fee.
Level III - As required, 18 to 36 hours
The Level III Non-Driving-related AOD Therapy course consists of the Level I AOD Basic Education, Level II AOD Education and Therapy, followed by individual sessions as required.
Program Fee: Intake fee – $15.00. $80.00 per session for individual sessions. (Sliding fee scale available.)
